AllAi Chat - Data Sources

AllAi Chat - Data Sources

You may have heard or experienced one of the issues while trying some AI assistants: the lack of updated content. This is a common problem for all similar tools out there because they all have a knowledge cutoff date. This means that if you ask for an up-to-date knowledge, it will not know about that and perhaps, it will hallucinate.

This is the reason why we implemented this feature.

Why should you use Data Sources?

If you want to prompt about Salesforce-specific topics, this is your go-to resource. Basically, we are indexing Salesforce documentations regularly so that AllAi Chat can generate answers using the information on those documents.

Indexing is organizing and storing information from documents in a way that allows for efficient and quick retrieval of that information.

How to enable Data Sources

  1. Click “Extensions“.

  1. Enable the Salesforce Data Source that you want AllAi to use while answering your questions. You can see details about the data source by clicking “view more”.

“Last updated at” is the date of the last indexing of that Data Source. Considering below screenshot, if there had been any changes on “Salesforce Commerce Cloud” after Nov 5, 2024 , that information is not available. Though, the Data Sources are being indexed regularly to keep the data fresh and as-close-to-as-up-to-date.

How to use Data Sources efficiently

Do not enable all data sources. In order to get the most accurate results, only enable the data source that AllAi would need from you. If a specific data source is not needed for the answer, always disable all of them.

Ensure the data source has been used. The Used Extensions box indicates that AllAi successfully found the information you need from the relevant Salesforce documentation.

Ask AllAi to use the data source that has been enabled by requesting it in your prompt.

Validate the answer by checking the information used within the data source. When you click the Used Extensions box, you can see the details of the extracted information used to build the answer.
